jbs ferm – liquid silage additive for stable, high-quality silages

For improving ensiling, jbs ferm is suitable for all forage crops in the easily to moderately ensilable range. Intensive research over the past 20 years (including FAL Braunschweig) has proven that the majority of naturally occurring lactic acid bacteria (LAB) are heterofermentative and waste valuable energy and time when converting sugar (fructose/glucose) into lactic acid, acetic acid, alcohol and CO₂. In addition, the activity of these LAB decreases significantly as dry matter increases. This is the most common cause of dry matter and energy losses, unfavourable pH values, fermentation failures, and excessive butyric acid levels. Specifically selected LAB in jbs ferm convert the easily digestible sugar present only at the beginning of ensiling up to six times more efficiently than naturally occurring LAB. This accelerates the ensiling process and reduces energy losses.

Application

The 450 g sachet of jbs ferm is sufficient for 300 tonnes, the 75 g sachet for 50 tonnes of silage material. Add the powder to at least 500 ml of cold water (450 g in 1.5 l) and shake/stir for ≥ 30 seconds. Add to the dosing tank, fill up and apply with the appropriate amount of water. Use the solution within 2 days.
