SiloSolve AS – the biological silage additive for aerobic stability and improved fermentation

Aerobic challenges during feed-out

When exposed to air – for example during feed-out – silage can heat up spontaneously. Mould and yeasts are fungi that grow rapidly when exposed to air and produce heat in the process. Nutrients are broken down and feed palatability is reduced. This can lead to reduced feed intake and subsequently lower milk yield. Energy-rich forage crops, such as maize, are more prone to this type of heating than other silages.

SiloSolve AS improves aerobic stability

SiloSolve AS contains two fast-growing, dominant lactic acid bacteria and a unique Lentilactobacillus buchneri strain. This special combination of bacterial strains improves fermentation and reduces the growth of yeasts and mould, resulting in extended aerobic stability during feed-out: 6 days for maize silages and 3 days for difficult-to-ensile grass and legume silages.

SiloSolve AS improves fermentation

The fast “starter” and strong, acid-tolerant “finisher” lactic acid bacteria in SiloSolve AS improve silage quality. In high-quality forage crops, such as alfalfa and grass-legume mixtures, SiloSolve AS reduces ammonia levels by up to 36% and ethanol levels by up to 50%. In easily ensiled forage crops, SiloSolve AS reduces ammonia levels by up to 18% and ethanol levels by up to 33%.
