The OXY MAX 50 barrier silage film is a smart solution for anyone who values quality, sustainability, and easy handling when covering silos. With a thickness of just 50 microns, it offers an extremely high oxygen barrier of only 0–0.5 cm³/m²/24 h—without the need for an additional underlay film.
Many assume that the thickness (µ) of a silage film is decisive. However, the dart drop value—the force required to puncture the film—is far more important. A thin film with a high dart drop value can be significantly more resistant than a thicker one with a lower value. The OXY MAX 50 features a particularly high dart drop value of 1000 g.
Its extremely puncture- and tear-resistant structure ensures maximum reliability—even under heavy use. With an oxygen permeability of just 0–0.5 cm³/m²/24 h, the film reliably prevents air ingress throughout the entire storage period. Due to its high gas tightness, it prevents oxygen penetration, which over longer storage periods can promote the growth of yeasts and molds. As a result, nutrients are preserved, the risk of reheating is significantly reduced, and feed quality is measurably improved.
Compared to conventional silage film systems, the OXY MAX 50 µ can reduce plastic usage by up to 70%. On an area of 10 × 50 meters, this corresponds to approximately 25 kg instead of the usual 90 kg—while providing the same level of protection.
The film is fully recyclable and not only reduces material usage, but also significantly lowers the effort required for transport, handling, and disposal. In addition, the OXY MAX 50 µ is a very lightweight silage film, with up to 75% less weight compared to conventional films. This makes application much easier, saves time, reduces physical effort, and lowers labor costs.
At the same time, the film is available in widths of up to 76 meters, making it ideal for large-scale applications.
