jbs cattle yeast 5/10 ph – for stable digestion & animal health in the rumen

jbs cattle yeast 5/10 ph is a high-quality live yeast complementary feed for cattle. During production, the live yeast is coated with a layer of inactive yeast and formed into stable granules. This protects it from air, moisture, and fermentation acids, ensuring that it only becomes active in the rumen, where it can develop its full effect.

Phenols promote health

Phenols neutralize free radicals that would otherwise negatively affect animal health. These free radicals are generated by stress factors such as high performance, calving, heat, etc.
Although vitamin E and selenium can also act as radical scavengers, they are then no longer available to the cow for growth and fertility. Phenols therefore help prevent deficiencies of vitamin E and selenium and support the cow’s performance.

Feeding

Dairy cows: 20 g per animal per day
Feeding of jbs cattle yeast 5/10 ph should start 4 weeks before calving and continue throughout the entire lactation until the dry period.

Fattening cattle: 35 g per animal per day

Rearing calves: 10 g per animal per day

In practical use

A field trial from the Czech Republic showed the following results:

ControlLive yeast
pH-value6.46.6
Lactate16.49.3
Fatty acids104.7112.0
Ø Milk yield ECM37.039.4
Glucose3.23.3
BHBA0.60.5

Source: Mohamed Mammeri von Phileo

All measured values improved significantly:

Lower lactate and higher fatty acids indicate a reduced risk of acidosis and optimized rumen processes. At the same time, higher fatty acids lead to improved energy yield from feed. Together with increased glucose levels, this results in higher milk production. The beta-hydroxybutyrate value (BHBA in blood) provides information about the energy balance. The higher it is, the greater the risk of ketosis. The lower value shows that live yeast complementary feed for cattle such as jbs cattle yeast 5/10 ph significantly relieves the cow’s metabolism.

FAQs about jbs cattle yeast 5/10 ph

jbs cattle yeast 5/10 ph is a complementary feed for cattle containing live yeast and phenols. The live yeast is coated with a layer of inactive yeast, ensuring that it only becomes active in the rumen and is protected from external influences until then. This product stabilizes the rumen, reduces the risk of acidosis, and supports animal health, especially under stress conditions.
The phenols in jbs cattle yeast 5/10 ph act as antioxidants that neutralize free radicals generated by stress factors such as high performance, feed changes, calving, or heat. This supports animal health and relieves the immune system.
The recommended dosage is:• Dairy cows: 20 g per animal per day, starting 4 weeks before calving and continuing throughout the entire lactation. • Fattening cattle: 35 g per animal per day. • Rearing calves: 10 g per animal per day.Feeding is done by mixing it into the daily ration.
Live yeast stabilizes the rumen pH, reduces the risk of acidosis, and promotes digestion. This leads to improved feed efficiency, increased energy yield, and supports liver function. Phenols act as radical scavengers, allowing more vitamin E and selenium to remain available for udder health and fertility.
A field trial from the Czech Republic showed that feeding Actisaf live yeast from jbs cattle yeast 5/10 ph stabilizes rumen pH, reduces lactate levels, and increases the concentration of volatile fatty acids. These changes indicate improved rumen function and energy efficiency.
The required amount of jbs cattle yeast 5/10 ph is added once daily to the mixer wagon together with other dry components such as mineral feed or grain. If no mixer wagon is available, the mixture can be applied as top dressing over the feed. In a premix, jbs cattle yeast 5/10 ph remains stable for approximately 4–6 weeks, thanks to the protective coating of the live yeast, provided the mixture is stored dry.
