jbs cattle yeast 4/10 – for a healthy rumen & high-performing ruminants

A healthy rumen is the core of every high-performing cow. jbs cattle yeast 4/10 supports rumen function with high-quality live yeast for cattle, which is formed into stable granules through a special drying process. These granules consist of an outer layer of inactive yeast that protects the live yeast cells and ensures that the yeast only becomes active in the rumen.
This protects the live yeast from air, moisture, and fermentation acids until activation in the rumen—an essential factor for rumen stabilization.

Targeted rumen optimization

Once the live yeast becomes active in the rumen, it unfolds its effect: it consumes oxygen, which is harmful to many microorganisms, and creates an ideal environment for fiber-degrading bacteria. This not only improves fiber digestibility in the rumen but also increases feed intake in cattle. Active rumen optimization has a direct impact on health, performance, and well-being. After just a few weeks, the effect becomes visible—manure contains fewer fiber and grain residues, indicating significantly improved feed utilization.

Reduction of acidosis risk

A stable pH value in the rumen protects the cow from acidosis. jbs cattle yeast 4/10 specifically promotes lactic acid-degrading bacteria, which partially convert lactic acid into valuable propionic acid. This is then converted into glucose in the liver and serves as an important energy source. This process contributes to stabilizing the rumen pH and reducing the risk of acidosis. jbs cattle yeast 4/10 is suitable for animals during lactation and the dry period.

Improved protein supply and milk performance

Increased microbial activity in the rumen also leads to a better supply of microbial protein—a high-quality, easily digestible protein that positively influences milk production. Especially during peak lactation or with fluctuating feed quality, jbs cattle yeast 4/10 reliably supports the cow’s metabolism. Long-term effect: fewer metabolic disorders, more stable milk performance, and improved fertility.

Packaging and storage of live yeast for cattle

jbs cattle yeast 4/10 is available in practical 20 kg bags. Store the product in a cool and dry place to maintain quality. Reseal the bag properly after use to preserve freshness

FAQs about jbs cattle yeast 4/10

jbs cattle yeast 4/10 is a feed supplement with live yeast that stabilizes the rumen flora and supports digestion in cattle. The yeast cultures promote rumen microbial activity, improve feed utilization, and reduce the risk of rumen acidosis
This product is suitable for dairy cows, fattening cattle, and young animals. It supports rumen function across different production stages, from rearing to high-performance lactation.
The recommended dosage is:• Rearing calves: 10 g per animal per day • Fattening cattle: 35 g per animal per day • Dairy cows: 20-25 g per animal per dayThe yeast should be mixed into the ration daily.
Regular feeding can lead to the following benefits:• Stabilization of rumen pH • Improved feed intake and utilization • Reduced risk of rumen acidosis • Support of hoof health • Support of the immune system through improved nutrient utilization
Store the product in a cool, dry place and protect it from direct sunlight. After opening, ensure the bag is tightly sealed to maintain product quality.
The required amount is mixed once daily with other dry components such as mineral feed or grain in the feed mixer wagon. If no mixer wagon is available, it can be applied as a top dressing over the feed. In a premix, jbs Rinderhefe 4/10 remains stable for approx. 4–6 weeks thanks to the protective coating of the live yeast, provided the mixture is stored dry.
