jbs cattle yeast 4/10 – for a healthy rumen & high-performing ruminants

A healthy rumen is the core of every high-performing cow. jbs cattle yeast 4/10 supports rumen function with high-quality live yeast for cattle, which is formed into stable granules through a special drying process. These granules consist of an outer layer of inactive yeast that protects the live yeast cells and ensures that the yeast only becomes active in the rumen.
This protects the live yeast from air, moisture, and fermentation acids until activation in the rumen—an essential factor for rumen stabilization.

Targeted rumen optimization

As soon as the live yeast becomes active in the rumen, it begins to exert its effect: It consumes oxygen that is harmful to many microorganisms and thereby creates an ideal environment for fiber-degrading bacteria. This not only improves fiber digestibility in the rumen, but also increases feed intake in cattle. Active rumen optimization has a direct positive effect on the health, performance and well-being of the cattle. The effect can be observed after just a few weeks – the feces contain fewer fiber and grain residues, indicating significantly improved feed utilization.

Reduction of acidosis risk

A stable rumen pH protects the cow against acidosis. jbs cattle yeast 4/10 specifically promotes lactic acid-degrading bacteria, which partially convert lactic acid into valuable propionic acid. This is then converted into glucose in the liver and is therefore an important source of energy. This process can help stabilize the rumen pH and thereby reduce the risk of acidosis. jbs cattle yeast 4/10 is suitable for animals during both the lactation and dry periods.

Improved protein supply and milk performance

Increased microbial activity in the rumen also leads to a better supply of microbial protein – a high-quality, easily digestible protein that has a positive effect on milk performance. Particularly during peak lactation or when feed quality fluctuates, jbs cattle yeast 4/10 reliably supports the cow’s metabolism. The long-term effect: fewer metabolic problems, more stable milk performance and improved fertility.

Feeding

Dairy cows: 20 g per animal per day
jbs cattle yeast 4/10 should be fed from 4 weeks before calving and throughout the entire lactation period until drying off.
Fattening cattle: 35 g per animal per day
Rearing calves: 10 g per animal per day

FAQs about jbs cattle yeast 4/10 – 20 kg

jbs cattle yeast 4/10 is a complementary feed containing live yeast that stabilizes the rumen flora and supports digestion in cattle. The yeast cultures it contains promote the activity of rumen microbes, improve feed utilization and reduce the risk of rumen acidosis.
This product is suitable for dairy cows, fattening cattle, and young animals. It supports rumen function across different production stages, from rearing to high-performance lactation.
The recommended daily dosage is mixed into the daily ration:
Dairy cows: 20 g per animal per day
The feed should be given from 4 weeks before calving throughout the entire lactation period until drying off.
Beef cattle: 35 g per animal per day
Calves: 10 g per animal per day
Regular feeding of jbs cattle yeast 4/10 can provide the following benefits:
• stabilization of rumen pH
• improved feed intake and feed utilization
• reduced risk of rumen acidosis
• support for hoof health
• support for the immune system through improved nutrient utilization
Store the product in a cool, dry place and protect it from direct sunlight. After opening, ensure the bag is tightly sealed to maintain product quality.
The amount of jbs cattle yeast 4/10 is added to the feed mixer wagon once a day together with other dry components such as mineral feed or grain. If no mixer wagon is available, the mixture can be added as a top dressing over the feed.
