Biogas trace elements are now an essential component for sulfur binding and for ensuring stable digester biology. They play a key role, in particular, in methane production.
The general demand for trace elements in a biogas plant is usually known. Through simple analysis, the required supplementation can be estimated. However, one major difference between trace element blends is that prices cannot be objectively compared. Why is that? In most cases, the ingredients are not fully disclosed. We take a different approach. We clearly declare all ingredients and formulations in a transparent and comparable way.
progas compact provides a precisely formulated blend of essential trace elements for use in biogas plants with a high proportion of maize silage. The main elements required are nickel, cobalt, and selenium.
Due to the highly concentrated complex binding of the individual trace elements to EDTA, a safe and easy-to-use trace element product is created. It complies with TRGS regulations and can be dosed directly into the fermenter of the biogas plant via the solid feed intake in a compostable 500 g bag. No dosing system is required.
The bags are delivered in space-saving packaging, with 30 bags per carton. The bags are opened by the feeding auger of the biogas plant during the feeding process.
Ideally, an analysis of the digester is the best basis for deciding whether, which, and how many trace elements should be used. However, experience shows that in 90% of cases, the proven progas compact formulation matches the plant’s requirements and supplies the digester with the necessary trace elements.
It is also recommended to check the iron demand to avoid the formation of insoluble compounds between trace elements and sulfur. The additional use of iron hydroxide such as OXIRED BIO 50 is recommended to ensure trace element availability for the biogas process.
