Proper storage is crucial for maintaining the quality of your harvest until it is used for livestock feed. With its high weight of 160 g/m², the protec Premium straw fleece offers a decisive quality advantage. The fabric is highly stable under mechanical stress and minimizes further tearing in the event of mechanical damage. Flapping in the wind is reduced. This helps prevent bale nets underneath the fleece from chafing through.

The breathable material is easy to lay thanks to its soft and flexible fabric. The protection of your harvest with protec Premium fleece 160 is optimally supported by using protec silage bags.

Important application notes

  • only cover dry, storable straw
  • we recommend placing straw bales on pallets for the bottom layer so that no material has ground contact
  • Always install the fleece tightly with an incline of approximately 45° so that water can drain off easily.

Substances such as sulphate, chlorine, copper or aluminium (e.g. from plant protection products, emissions, fuels or other environmental influences) can significantly impair UV stability.

The protec Premium straw fleece 160 g/m² is an extra heavy and robust protective fleece specifically designed for covering straw bales. It reliably protects the harvested material from weather influences such as rain, wind, and UV radiation, as well as from contamination caused by bird droppings and other environmental factors.
Compared to conventional covering materials, the protec Premium straw fleece 160 g/m² offers the following advantages:
• High tear resistance: the heavy fabric (160 g/m²) is particularly resistant to mechanical stress and prevents further tearing in the event of damage
• UV guarantee: the fleece remains UV-stable over a long period of time and is therefore suitable for long-term outdoor use
• Breathability: the material is breathable, reducing moisture build-up and mould formation under the cover
• Water-repellent: it protects the harvested material from penetrating moisture
• Easy handling: the soft, flexible roll material is easy to install and offers little resistance to wind, reducing flapping
For optimal application, the following points and the enclosed installation instructions should be followed:
• Only cover dry, storable straw: moist harvested material can spoil under the cover
• Place the lowest layer on pallets: to avoid ground contact, the bottom layer of bales should be stored on pallets, for example
• Install the fleece tightly with a 45° slope: this allows rainwater to drain away freely and prevents water accumulation on the cover
The protec Premium straw fleece 160 g/m² is designed for long-term use. The 5-year UV guarantee ensures long-lasting resistance to sunlight.
