The OXY MAX 50 µ is a high-performance barrier silage film with a thickness of just 50 µ that can be used without an underlay film. It offers extremely low oxygen permeability of 0–0.5 cm³/m²/24 h. This provides optimal protection for silage against oxygen ingress, yeasts, mould formation and nutrient losses.

The OXY MAX 50 µ is available in different widths of up to 80 m and in length variants of e.g. 50 m, 75 m, 150 m or 225 m – depending on the storage and roll size.

The film is loosely placed on the silage so that it can form a fermentation gas cover and adapt to the unevenness of the silage surface. The CO2 sinking from the fermentation draws the film down. Pulling the film tight increases the risk of damage from foot traffic and later leads to the formation of air channels. For optimum protection, silage protection nets and silo bags should generally be used all around and as cross barriers to weigh the film down.
