Additional benefits of SiloSolve® FC

  • is trained to metabolize all residual oxygen within just a few hours
  • is responsible for the initial production of lactic acid
  • lactic acid is the most efficient fermentation acid and, together with the rapid absence of oxygen, quickly lowers the silage pH
  • The strain of the heterofermentative bacterium contained in SiloSolve® FC Lentilactobacillus buchneri (formerly Lactobacillus buchneri)

      • has the ability to produce acetic acid and (in smaller amounts) lactic acid
      • acetic acid (≥ 1.5% of DM content) suppresses yeasts and molds, thereby protecting against reheating and spoilage

    Faster, higher, more valuable

The rapid ensiling process enabled by this combination of strains allows silage to be opened as early as after 1 week of storage. The high lactic acid production and the rapid drop in pH ensure that more nutrients remain in the silage and dry matter losses are reduced compared to untreated silage. In addition, the overall fermentation process is improved, resulting in higher digestibility, especially of the fiber fraction. This has been demonstrated in in vivo trials.

SiloSolve® FC is a valuable tool for farmers aiming to improve silage quality. High forage performance can only be achieved with high-quality silage and good feed intake. The use of SiloSolve® FC requires only a small effort compared to the value of the nutrients that are protected and preserved.

The factors for efficient fermentation are: sufficient moisture for silage bacteria, the ability to quickly achieve and maintain an oxygen-free environment, the content of fermentable sugars in the plant, the amount and type of naturally occurring microorganisms, and the acids formed during fermentation.

All of this depends, among other things, on climatic conditions, plant development, and harvest timing. The natural microorganisms present are diverse (fermentative bacteria, harmful bacteria, yeasts, molds). With so many variables, the exact course of fermentation is unpredictable. The use of SiloSolve® FC directs the ensiling process in the desired direction.

SiloSolve® FC contains a combination of two specialized bacteria:
