The combination of a homo- and a heterofermentative bacterial strain in jbs ferm sf is very well suited for grass silages with a dry matter (DM) content above 30%.
In a field trial with round bales in the Netherlands, the bales from the second cut were pressed and wrapped at approx. 38% DM. After 60 days they were opened and exposed to air for 7 days. The untreated bales lost 55% of their dry matter weight after the stress test. The treated bales only 20%. Of course, jbs ferm sf can also be used in bunker silos.
A customer from South Holland with 65 cows showed us his high-quality silage during a visit and was very enthusiastic. He said that jbs ferm sf had really moved his farm forward. That is exactly how it should be.
