There are several reasons for this: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Silo bags can be placed to form a barrier (every 2.5\u20135 m) that minimizes the entry of air under the film. This reduces mould formation in the edge areas. There are always air gaps between car tyres, which can, in the worst case, form a network of air channels across the entire silo.  <\/li>\n<li>Depending on their age and condition, tyres can release wire ends. If these get into the silage and are subsequently fed to the animals, this can lead to serious health problems. <\/li>\n<li>Handling the bags is considerably easier and more effective, not only when covering the silo but also when moving them after opening.
