Cows suffer greatly from high temperatures and humidity (heat stress), among other reasons because the digestion of fiber-rich feed in the rumen releases a lot of heat\u2014similar to a biogas reactor. However, it is not really possible to switch a ruminant to a low-fiber ration, as rumen acidosis and a decline in feed intake would inevitably be the result. <\/p>\n

In the test group, the cows converted the nearly 10% increase in blood glucose into a 5% higher milk yield. <\/p>\n
